Mike Yamin Photography | FAQ

What is your style or approach to photographing a wedding?

My philosophy guides my approach, which is part documentary and part fine art portraiture. I alternate between observer and director, using both natural and artificial lighting when needed or desired for creative expression. I make sure to give you the direction and confidence you need in front of the camera and always make myself available to you and your guests. Since your enjoyment is my primary concern, I really try to stay out of the way as much as possible and never cause delays on your big day—I want you to eat the delicious food you picked out and spend time catching up with that old friend who moved away!

How much do you charge?

We put together a nice little pricing guide recently, so please get in touch and I'll send it your way! We're very flexible and do our best to work with every budget. Concessions are often made for weekday and off-season weddings.

What is your experience?

Since 2007, I've photographed everything from people, to products, to food, real estate and weddings. I've worked with international brands and photographed thousands of people for portrait studios in Danbury, Westport, and Greenwich. I feel that those experiences allow me to bring a unique level of expertise to your wedding.

Do you include rights to the digital images?

Yes! You will receive the high resolution digital images from your wedding and they're yours to print and share. The images are delivered in an online gallery within a few weeks of your wedding, where you'll download them for safekeeping and optionally purchase prints from our professional lab. The images are processed for optimal color and contrast, receiving further treatment when printed or used in an album.

Do you work with a second photographer?

I work with a great second photographer and solo, depending on the needs of your wedding. Some are more elaborate than others, with events happening in multiple locations or a large number of guests, and a second photographer can help in those cases.

Have you worked at my venue before?

I've photographed weddings at many venues in Connecticut and New York. If I haven't been to yours, I always research it thoroughly and check it out in person, if possible. As a photographer, I get just as excited about discovering and exploring a new place as you would when making vacation plans for the Summer!

Do you travel?

I'm located in Connecticut and am available for weddings throughout New England and beyond. There is no extra charge for travel unless an overnight stay is required. Destination weddings in certain locations will have no travel fee whatsoever!

Are you insured?

Yes! I can also provide a certificate of insurance to your venue, if they require one.
